Características de personalidade de mulheres que se submeteram à cirurgia bariátrica / Personality characteristics of women who underwent bariatric surgery

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo investigar características psicológicas de mulheres que realizaram cirurgiabariátrica mediante a elaboração de um perfil de médias construído com base no Inventário Fatorial de Personalidade(IFP), no Inventário de Depressão de Beck (BDI) e no Inventário de Ansiedade de Beck (BAI). Participaram 24 mulheressubmetidas a cirurgia bariátrica há pelo menos 90 dias, com idades entre 20 e 56 anos. Os traços de personalidade maiscaracterísticos encontrados incluem alta deferência e baixa agressão. As participantes obtiveram escores de intensidadede depressão e ansiedade mínimos e nenhuma delas apresentou níveis de intensidade considerados graves. A relevânciado estudo consiste em analisar os perfis de personalidade de mulheres que realizaram cirurgia bariátrica, o que podeauxiliar no preparo pré-cirúrgico e indicar uma melhor adesão das pacientes às recomendações da equipemultiprofissional após o procedimento.

This manuscript aims to investigate the psychological characteristics of women that had bariatric surgery through theconstruction of a mean profile made from IFP, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI).Twenty four women, aged between 20 and 56, that underwent bariatric surgery not more than 90 days before participatedin this study. The outstanding personality traits found include high deference and low aggression. The participant’sdepression and anxiety intensity were minimum and none of them presented intensity levels considered severe. Therelevance of this study lies in analyzing the personality profile of women that underwent bariatric surgery and it can helpin the pre-surgery preparation and also indicate a better contribution of the patients with the professional team after theprocedure.

Validação dos subtestes verbais da versão de adaptação da WASI / Validation of the verbal subtests from WASI adapted version

Este artigo objetiva verificar evidências de validade dos subtestes verbais da versão de adaptação da Escala de Inteligência Wechsler Abreviada (WASI). Foram realizadas correlações entre as provas Raciocínio Verbal (RV) e Raciocínio Abstrato (RA) da BPR-5 e os subtestes Vocabulário e Semelhanças da versão de adaptação da WASI. Quarenta e seis alunos (média de idade = 13,54 anos; dp = 1,11) do ensino fundamental (6ª a 8ª série) de uma escola pública de Porto Alegre participaram deste estudo. Foram encontradas correlações significativas (p<0,05) de moderadas a altas (de 0,51 a 0,77). As correlações entre os subtestes RV, Vocabulário e Semelhanças foram superiores às correlações do RA com os subtestes da WASI. Isto poderia ser explicado pelo fato do RA utilizar figuras geométricas, enquanto os outros envolvem palavras. Os achados sugerem que os subtestes verbais da versão de adaptação da WASI contemplam os critérios de evidências de validade.

This study aims to verify validity evidences of the verbal subtests from the adapted version of the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI). A correlation analysis was performed with Verbal Reasoning (VR) and Abstract Reasoning (AR) from BPR-5 and Vocabulary and Similarities subtests of the WASI adapted version. Fourty-six students (mean age = 13.54 years; sd = 1.11) with elementary school education (6th, 7th and 8th grades) from a public school in Porto Alegre participated in this study. Statistically significant correlations were found (p<0.05) between moderate and high (0.51 to 0.77). The correlations between VR, Vocabulary and Similarities were higher than the ones between AR and the WASIïs subtests. This could be explained by the fact that RA comprises geometric figures, whereas the others comprise words. The findings suggest that the WASI adapted version fulfill validity evidences criteria.
